As the sun was setting, all they that had any sick … he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them.
He healed them all. Healing a man to healing a woman to healing a child to healing an unbeliever.
Jesus cares about every single one of us.
The entire night, one by one, personally & individually.
He has time for you simply because you are His.
And There is nothing He can’t heal
& there is no one that He won’t save.
He turned, and He turns, no one away.
Jesus is our great physician both body & soul.
He heals, He restores. All of us.
‘As the sun was setting,’ is my favorite part of that. Sometimes we can be put off from reading so frequently the word immediately when those in the scriptures are being healed, when we feel that has not been the case for us. "The sun was setting," & it was getting late into the evening, late into a season of struggle, late into our life, & that struggle is still there. That has been me many times. The sun was setting are those times when light seems to be dimming or that our opportunity for things to change has passed us by, that it is too late. But even if it is late into the night, late into our season, late into our life— even if the sun is setting, your one-by-one Savior DOES come. Jesus, right now, in this life, in this season, even while the sun is setting, our great physician is here to heal. And maybe Jesus won’t always take our struggle away completely. But He does in fact come with hands pierced with love, dedication, and power to lifts you higher. And He does in fact come with relief, with comfort, with guidance, hope, strength, forgiveness, love. It is not too late; you are not too far gone, He will never look at you like a waste of time. There is nothing He cannot fix & no one He will not save. Simply b/c you are His. And even when the sun is setting & it seems as though darkness will overcome, Jesus does in fact come with light. "The light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness.” The sun always rises, & you are always His.
